On June 6, 2023, the Russians blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant in the Kherson region, causing a large-scale man-made disaster that affected more than 12,000 civilians.

In the first days after the terrible news, the Foundation's team gathered the necessary assistance, found evacuation buses and went to the site of the disaster. However, the locals refused to evacuate and decided not to leave their homes, as the water would eventually recede... Despite all our requests, we were unable to persuade them to evacuate, but we were able to provide clean water and food to the locals, delivering over 200 food packages and tons of drinking water.

Volunteer headquarters and the SES worked around the clock in extremely difficult and dangerous conditions. A lot of equipment and resources were lost due to attacks by Russian troops, even during the evacuation of affected civilians.

Our team promptly purchased 4 lifeboats, water purification tablets, mattresses, 100 rescue boards, 100 vests, 100 lifebuoys and 115 pressure-suction hoses, Starlink, EcoFlow and power banks to provide the most necessary supplies to the SES, volunteers and local residents.

Our foundation always cooperates with other volunteer organizations and is ready to lend a helping hand to everyone. That is why, having learned about the brave volunteers of the volunteer center of the DNA Foundation trying to save the victims on their own, we responded and purchased and delivered humanitarian aid, equipment, and essential goods to help the volunteers and the residents affected by the Russian attack.

During our aid trips to Kherson, we were most impressed by the way local residents of Komyshany, Fedorivka, Dariivka and others refused to accept evacuation and food packages in order to leave this aid to those who may need it more than they do...

The self-sacrifice and courage of the Ukrainian people, which remains even in the most terrible times for us, amazes the whole world. This nation cannot be defeated. As long as such people exist, as long as we are able to provide assistance where it is needed, and as long as each of us fights, we will not be defeated.
