Currently, one of the most frequent requests for psychological counseling is homesickness, favorite places, children's photos and all that had to be left in connection with the war.

The loss of this responds with great pain in the heart, and despite the warm welcome in another city (and especially in the absence of one), deep pain is experienced.

Today we will talk about how to help yourself cope with this situation and adapt to a new place, integrate into a new life.

The most important thing to understand is that life goes on. Yes, now there is a war, and they are trying to deprive us of our native land. But we are strong, and our home is the whole of Ukraine.

Ukraine has always been famous for its beautiful nature: endless expanses of fields, wild mountain landscapes and incredible depth of the sea surface - these are images from our children's fairy tales, these are prints of relatives and favorite places.

Right now, try to close your eyes, take a deep breath and imagine the most expensive and favorite place on the map of Ukraine. Immerse yourself in its smells, feel its strength. Arrange an imaginary walk, and walk as long as necessary. Take your time, this place belongs to you forever. When you feel that you are full of impressions, you can slowly open your eyes. Repeat such walks at night, they are very filling with resources and allow you to maintain a deep and restorative sleep.

The task of the following days after practice will be to find your place in real life. Try to find such a special corner of your own city in which you now live. You should be cozy and comfortable there, and it should please the eye. Look for it, and when you find it, you will be surprised by your discovery, because with a new look you will see the amazing place where fate has directed you.

Having developed this skill, you will soon realize that it is easier to adapt to a new place of residence, and begin to enjoy studying it.

Remember – in Ukraine you are always at home. This land belongs to you!
